Beginning June 2009 through September 2, 2009, to help those unemployed in the communities surrounding Flair's 5 locations, Valencia, Burbank, Studio City, Santa Monica, and Redondo Beach, Flair Cleaners is offering to clean--at no charge--up to four pieces of dry cleaning per week. This will allow those who are out of work, and out job hunting to show up with confidence in a clean, pressed interview suit without the additional expense of dry cleaning.

Los Angeles, June, 2009 - Flair Cleaners' commitment to the well-being of the surrounding communities led to this recent outreach. In the words of owner Gary Futterman, "We wanted to find a way to show our support for those who have lost their jobs and are out there looking for work. Knowing that they're showing up in their best suit; that it's clean, that they look polished and professional, may give interviewees the extra confidence boost they need to help them get the job."

To participate in Flair Cleaners' community outreach program, each Wednesday, now through September 2, 2009, those in Los Angeles County who have lost their jobs are invited to bring their most recent unemployment (EDD) pay stub and photo ID to one Flair Cleaners location. Angelenos can find their nearest Flair Cleaners at Flair will clean and press, free of charge, up to four pieces of an interview ensemble-the power suit-consisting of one jacket, one skirt/pants, and two shirts/blouses. Participants are invited to return to the same location, with their current EDD stub each Wednesday through September 2, while they are in need.

"At Flair Cleaners, we really do care about our customers and their lives, and we care about how we impact our local communities," says Gary Futterman.

Flair Cleaners, a joint venture of the Futterman and Singer families, originated in Chicago in 1958, and was established in Southern California in 1963. Since that time, Flair has been very active in each of the communities surrounding their five locations: Valencia, Burbank, Studio City, Santa Monica, and Redondo Beach. Each year, Flair donates thousands of dollars in goods and services to a wide variety of charitable causes, including silent auctions at dozens of schools, churches, and synagogues.

This past December marked the 6th year for Flair's Annual Holiday Clothing Drive. Flair Cleaners' customers brought in tens of thousands of garments which were then donated to local charities such as Helping Hands for the Blind and Children's Network International.

Flair's commitment to the environment won them the prestigious "WRAP Award" (Waste Reduction Awards Program) for the past several years. This award recognizes California businesses for their outstanding waste reduction efforts.
